A cape that provides a natural AC of 12 won't benefit much when almost all large beasts have a natural AC of 13+
It needs to provide a benefit to both forms. Magic items cease to function when in wild shape form, unless they specifically say they work in wild shape, or have a certain modification made whose name escapes me. You gain the wild shape order spell, which lets you transform into a variety of forms that you can expand with druid feats. Feats Craft Magic Arms and Armor Spells baleful polymorph Cost +3. Only items in official books or modules While the wearer is in a wild shape, the armor cannot be seen. I mean the in-game concept of Large, as in a 2x2 square creature. What gear would benefit a druid both in their standard form and when they take the form of a large creature? Equipment that merges with the form has no effect until you leave the form. The tile placement organically creates interconnecting. Hamlet features irregular shaped tiles that connect together without a grid to form a village that is completely different every time. Image, contents, and release date are subject to change. Your equipment doesn't change to match the new form, and any equipment that the new form can't wear must either fall to the ground or merge with it. If there are other items on the order, the entire order will not ship until all preorders release. 
Worn equipment functions as normal, but the GM decides whether it is practical for the new form to wear a piece of equipment. You choose whether your equipment falls to the ground in your space, merges into your new form, or is worn by it.Starting at 2nd level, you can use your action to magically assume the shape of a beast that you have seen before.
